Who are the MSA? The Motor Sports Association is the sole national governing body for four-wheel motor sport in the UK, as recognised by the world governing body, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The MSA is a not-for-profit organisation (limited by guarantee) comprising around 750 affiliated motor clubs, which are represented by 13 Regional Associations nationwide. The MSA represents approximately 30,000 competition licence holders and 9,500 volunteer marshals and officials, and issues permits for around 5,000 motor sport events every year ......
What is the ASWMC? The ASWMC was formed 60 years ago this month, on the 9th of March 1957, with the aim of supporting local motor clubs and safeguarding their interests and activities through group representation to the (then) RAC Competition Department. We were not the first regional association, as similar ones had been established in the North in 1948 and the Midlands in the early 1950s. At the start the association had just 21 member clubs and this has risen steadily to 86 in 2017, making the ASWMC one of the largest and most active MSA Regional Associations in the country. 1960 saw the introduction of Road Rally Championship which, as far as we can tell, was the first properly constructed and recognised Regional Association Championship in the country ......
